SSTA Members Briefing (Virtual) – 26 September 2023 at 5.00pm

Following a successful number of members briefings across Scotland in early September we have received many requests for a virtual briefing session. We are therefore, pleased to confirm that a virtual briefing has been arranged on Tuesday 26 September at 5.00pm.

If you want to hear about the possible end of external exams at S4 and whether the Scottish Government is taking poor pupil behaviour seriously then register below.

If you want to know about the future of your teachers’ pension and whether you can afford to retire, come along and meet our pensions expert. The briefing will be at 5.00pm. Book your place below.


The Briefing

Seamus Searson, SSTA General Secretary will outline the Qualifications and Assessment Review, the Pupil Behaviour Summit and Teacher Health and Wellbeing.

Stuart McCullough, Independent Financial Adviser from L-life Ltd will also be giving a presentation on the changes to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme. This will concentrate on “The Remedy” and the impact that the Sergeant and McCloud court case has had on your pension benefits, the choices that you will have to make and when you will have to make them. Stuart will also provide a demonstration on how to use the Remedy Calculator on the SPPA website to help you calculate your expected pension benefits.
