Today’ we launch our new brand and website marking an exciting new chapter in the history of the Scottish Secondary Teachers’ Association (SSTA).
Shaped by member feedback and SSTA subgroups, our new identity and website reflect who we are, what we stand for and our commitment to secondary education in Scotland.
Modern, professional and distinctly secondary-focused, our identity reinforces what the SSTA has always stood for: being the voice of secondary teachers. It brings our union into the future while remaining rooted in the history, values and traditions that define us.
As Scotland’s only specialist trade union dedicated exclusively to secondary teachers, the SSTA has a unique role in education. Our identity celebrates this distinction and strengthens our determination to represent, protect and support secondary teachers for generations to come.
Built by our members, for our members.
Developed by our members, this rebrand reflects our shared purpose and commitment to ensuring secondary teachers are heard.
Rather than outsourcing our identity to private branding specialists, we have worked with our sister trade union federation, the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU). Together, we have created a brand that reflects our values and trade union collaboration.
We want every SSTA member to feel ownership and pride in our identity, so our branding is available to all members.

This launch is about more than a new look or website. It is about strengthening our collective voice, raising the profile of secondary teachers and keeping their interests at the heart of Scotland’s education debate.
We have a proud history, a strong membership and an important future to shape together.
We’re the voice of secondary teachers.
